If you’ve always wanted to invest in real estate but have been too timid maybe I can help. My name is Robert Barber and I’ve lived in Salinas the past 45 years. My first investment was 30 years ago, just a few years out of High School, when I purchased my first home in East Salinas. After living there about 2 years, the house across the street from me came up for sale. It was a 2bd 1ba home with a garage which had been converted into a 1bd 1ba home. I owned it for a little over 1 year and sold it for an $8,000. profit. I really enjoyed being an investor and wanted to continue. But my life took a turn for the worst and it wasn’t until 2004 when I started looking for investment property again. I searched the hot spots around California and New Mexico and ended up buying a condo here in my back yard Salinas. Its been the best investment of my life and I’m seeking to buy more.
